The teachings of demons

The first bit of 1 Tim 4 talks about how some people would fall away and subscribe to the teachings of demons. When we first hear this we’re tempted to think demonology or something similar to warlock and magic casters, but watch what continues.

They forbid marriage, and the command abstinence from certain foods.

One of the best things the Devil can do, is confuse us on the issue of Commanded by the bible, and consistent with the bible. What we command what is consistent, we create disunity and unnecessary legalism; and when we disregard the commandments that apply to us today, we be little that which God is not indifferent on.

And the biggest thing? It can cause disunity in the church. Eph 4 talks about the unity we have in the church and it’s foundation. It is pointless to create disunity in church over small matters like what Millenial stance you believe, or what food is kosher, or to what extent ‘taking care of your body the temple of God’ should be observed. Instead, we have One body, One Spirit, One hope, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, and One God and Father over all.
