Stay away

… not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world… 1 Corinthians 5:10

Mentioned before was the people that we are called to stay away from, but what makes the next verse pivotal isn’t what it says (the sexually immoral of this world, the greedy, swindlers and idolators are not what Paul meant by “do not associate with them”), but rather what it implies. That we should be treating people who call themselves our brothers and sisters but are instead diluting the gospel of Christ to advocate an easy repentless life, with this sort of distance. This is how repulsive and dangerous they are.

Dangerous? Yes. Yes, because the doctrine that they preach is remarkably tempting to consider, and God knows that given the chance and enough reason to do so, we as sinful human beings would probably give in if we allowed our sinful desires to give in to believe that God died so that we could continue in our lustful ways.
